Every CD library needs this wonderful story. We used this great music to help a "special Needs" group reproduce in part, this wonderful show which brings joy to the human heart. It is so well done. This great show still has people singing its praises. It made Judy Garland famouns for life.
If you love Dorothy, Auntie Em and Toto, too (and really, who doesn't). For example the rare "Jitterbug" song is included as well as the extended version of "If I Only Had a Brain." No collection of Oz would be complete without Judy Garland's signature anthem, "Over the Rainbow" and this track really ties this entire diverse collection together. The CD includes a lovely picture on it and there is even a booklet which includes lots of pictures, stories and facts about the movie and the music. I have never listened to another CD that has brought back such fond memories and evoked such emotion as "The Wizard of Oz." I don't think any adult (or child) of any era over the last 70 years doesn't have wonderful memories of the greatest movie ever made. then you must get this CD and celebrate all of the memories all over again. It includes every single song from the movie, full and complete and remastered, sounding better than ever. What I enjoyed the most about this CD is how complete it is and how well put together it is. It even includes several extended versions and songs that were not on the final cut of the movie.
Wonderful gift for someone who likes Wizard of Oz. Most of the movie tunes are on cd. Great sound quality.
If you love these classics, then I highly recommend THE WIZARD OF OZ: SELECTIONS FROM THE ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK. The Witch Is Dead, Follow the Yellow Brick Road, If I Only Had a Brain, We're off to See the Wizard, If I Only Had a Heart,If I Only Had the Nerve, Merry Old Land of Oz, and even The Jitterbug. While going through a Wizard of Oz craze, I decided to buy the soundtrack. I love all the classic songs, including Over the Rainbow, Come Out, Come Out, It Really Was No Miracle, Ding-Dong.
I was really impressed. This cd has all of the songs including the extended version of "king of the forest" and the deleted "jitterbug".
